Course content

The goal of this course is to give students basic knowledge and experience in the use of laboratory based methods for the investigation of human movement with respect to data collection, analyses and presentation. Methods to measure movement, energy uptake and muscle activation will be taught practically by using laboratory equipment and signal analyses programs.

Learning outcome

Students will acquire the ability to use laboratory based methods for the investigation of human movement. Moreover, students will acquire knowledge about signal analysis, strategies for data reduction and presentation of data and results.

Learning methods and activities

Up to 42 hours lectures/exercises/group work.

Compulsory assignments

  • Approved participation in exercises and group work
  • Approved group reports.

Required previous knowledge

Admission to master’s degree in human movement science.
