Course content
The course deals with fundamental theories about understanding movement, with focus on physiological processes related to energy transfer, circulation, respiration, muscle work, force production, and neuromuscular control. Theories about physiological principles in relation to performance and function will be addressed. In addition, various theories about how physiological processes, performance, and function change in relation to physical activity, sports, health, and rehabilitation will be discussed.
Learning outcome
Students will acquire deeper knowledge about theories within work- and neurophysiology related to human movement and physical activity. Furthermore, the students will be able to relate these theories to research questions within sports, health, and rehabilitation.
Learning methods and activities
42 hours lectures/exercises/group work.
Compulsory assignments
- Approved participation in exercises/group work.
Required previous knowledge
Admission to masters degree in human movement science.
