About

About the course

Course content

The first session provides an introduction to modern perspectives on motor learning and development, followed by a discussion. These perspectives include selection theories, information theories, and dynamic theories based on self-organization and universal principles. Each student will give a short presentation of the problem area in their own PhD project, and proposals for possible theoretical frameworks will be discussed in the group.
At the second session, each candidate will present the main theories for their problem area, which will be discussed in the group. After a general discussion, the research question for the term paper will be chosen. The research question must be related to motor learning and/or development, and preferably linked to the theme of the PhD project.
At the third session, the students will present and discuss their specific research questions, grounded in theory, and their drafts for the term paper.
The course can be used as part of the theoretical training.
