About
About the course
Course content
The course provides an introduction to evolutionary biology, ecology and ethology. On completion of the course the students should have an understanding of ecological processes on individual-, population-, community and ecosystem level. At the individual level behavioural adaptations and behavioural mechanisms are given major focus. Through the course the students will become familiar with the ecological processes of terrestrial and aquatic habitats in Northern Europe. Lectures on biodiversity, nature management and environmental protection will focus on case studies from Scandinavia. The course is part of the 1-year module in biology, and includes a common field course with BI 1002. Admission is restricted. A small number of places are available for students that want only BI 1003.
