Course - Genetics and Evolution II - BI2018
Genetics and Evolution II
About
About the course
Course content
The course will give an introduction to analyses of morphological and
molecular data in studies of adaptive variation and demographic
processes. Special emphasis will be placed on training practical skills in evolutionary and ecological analyses. The course includes
quantiotative genetic analyses with aid of the program package R,
elementary bioinformatics, population genetics and comparative analyses using DNA data, QTL analysis and association mapping. Recent literature are presented and discussed on seminars together with central concepts within evolutionary biology.
Learning outcome
Students should after this course be able to understand why and how to
use quantitative and molecular data for answering central questions
within evolutionary biology and evolutionary ecology.
