About the course
Course content
The course will be concerned with population genetics and population genetic tools, with particular emphasis on the following subjects: Panmictic populations and genetic equilibrium, deviation from panmixi, genetic consequences. Changes in gene frequency, genetic drift and fragmentation, mutations, migrations. Selection and differentiation.
Learning outcome
On completion of the course students should be familiar with central topics in population genetics, and also have knowledge of important population genetic tools.

Lectures: 30 hours
Recommended previous knowledge
The students need previous knowledge corresponding to BI 1001, BI 1004, BI 1003 and BI 2017 . The student need basic knowledge in algebra, probability theory and statistics.
