About the course

Course content

The course comprises descriptive hydrodynamics (adapted for biologists), physical (including marine climate) and chemical oceanography, and trophic interactions in the pelagic planktonic ecosystem. Students will take part in compulsory seminars and will present a project report on a given topic at the end of the course. A major part of the course is devoted to a self study based on a specified curriculum. The course will be given at the Sealab, NTNU

Learning outcome

On completion of the course the students should be familiar with central topics in Biological oceanography.
