About the course

Course content

The work with the Master's thesis is a practical exercise in academic dance research. The student chooses a topic for the thesis in consultation with her/his supervision group and in relation to the subjects of priority defined by the academic staff and students early in the study.


Learning outcome

The thesis should provide the student with experience as to how an academic research is conducted, and how source material is gathered and used.

Learning methods and activities

Individual supervision, subject seminar. The students shall deliver an outline in the beginning of the semester. The usual scope of the thesis is approximately 50-70 pages (using standard A4 paper, type spacing 1.5, Times New Roman).

Required previous knowledge

Requires admission to the Nordic Master's programme in Dance (No-MA-ds).
