About the course
Course content
he student is required to build up a dance repertoire and to specialise in a certain amount of material, some compulsory for all, some selected by each student and some material covering a certain region. The student is required to practice dancing in traditional/ folk dance environments and to be part of students performances and projects. Compulsory courses: Other dance genres I This course gives a basic introduction to techniques from theatre dance and is based on practical sessions, lectures and work in groups to have the two groups of students work together. The course is evaluated as completed / not completed based on participation in the compulsory teaching.
Learning outcome
The student shall learn to perform and pass on traditional dance on a high level as solo dance and couple dance.
Learning methods and activities
The course is given in intensive sessions. There are compulsary practical teaching in plenary, for couples and for individual students. The student is required to learn dances in traditional environments, from films and from written sources through supervised individual work. These tasks also include writing of logs and producing recordings from the learning activities for the teachers weekly distance supervision. Based on logs and recordings each student will write a report each semester on his/her work and progress.

Specific conditions
Admission to a programme of study is required:

Required previous knowledge
Fullfilled DANS 4110 or similar.
