About the course
Course content
The student will gain insight into various aspects of artistic processes with the Traditional Dance as a main technique. To create and perform dance as a body language and an art language will be central along with subjects as performing choreography, creative work, improvisation and drama techniques. The student will also have introductions to dramaturgy, directing, set design and voice production. The students will work with different choreographers. Additionally the student is required to participate in the production of presentations for defined target groups. A red thread through tasks and projects within the course will be: Folk dance between dance floor and stage choices and strategies.
Compulsary course: Dance community and media will introduce the student to development of concepts, to preparing, carrying through and evaluating presentations. The course also includes reflections around the functions of dance culturally and socially. The course is evaluated as completed / not completed based on participation in the compulsory teaching and upon submitting a project report.
Learning outcome
The student shall develop in his role as performing dancer , be able to create performances of dance with different kinds of ensembles and for different kinds of audiences.
Learning methods and activities
There are compulsary, plenary teaching and workshops. Group exam. The group or groups select one project they have been working on during the last year and prepare(s) it for an exam performance.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Dansevitenskap (BDANS)
Required previous knowledge
Fullfilled DANS 4110 or similar.
