About the course
Course content
The student will gain insight into various aspects of artistic processes with the Traditional Dance as a main technique. Introduction to choreographic work and to create and perform dance as a body language and an art language will be central. The students will work further with the subjects performing choreography, creative work, improvisation, drama techniques, dramaturgy, directing, set design and voice production. The students will work with different choreographers.
Additionally the student is required to participate in an exam the production with focus on specialisation in choreographic work. Compulsary course: Art, tradition and aestetics will be a series of lectures introducing theory of art with a few in-dept approaches to theatre dance history and aesthetical theory. Part of the teaching will be shared with DANCE2001. The course is evaluated as completed / not completed based on participation in the compulsory teaching and upon submitting an essay.
Learning outcome
The student shall develop in his role as performing dancer , be able to create performances of dance with different kinds of ensembles and for different kinds of audiences
Learning methods and activities
There are compulsary, plenary teaching teaching for groups and workshops and a public exam performance 20-40 minutes long on theme defined by the students.

Required previous knowledge
Fullfilled DANS4120 or simular.
