Dramaturgy and Conceptualization
About
About the course
Course content
During the course students will develop the ability to generate an original concept for a performance. As a basis for this, dramaturgy will be taught historically and theoretically through manifestos and academic theory. Dramaturgy is also related to the art of acting, the art of directing, as well as to theories/models on organization and production. Students will work individually and in groups with assignments concerning target audience, choice of subject matter, interpretation, adaptations, and concept development.
Learning outcome
The course will provide further competence in the devices of drama/theatre. During the course students will be able to develop an independent concept for a performance or describe the development of a performance.
Learning methods and activities
Instruction is provided in the form of lectures, seminars, and exercises.
