About the course
Course content
DRA3192 Master's Thesis, Practical Option, is the second part of Master’s Thesis, Practical Option. This course constitutes the written part of the artistic or pedagogical investigation of the candidate’s project. The thesis consists of the description of and reflection upon the project according to the approved project plan.
Learning outcome
The candidates will, through the completive courses DRA3191 and DRA3192, demonstrate the ability, within a defined area, to teach, supervise and lead young people and adults/students in projects designed by themselves or by others. Through DRA3192, the candidate will come away with knowledge about historical and contemporary as well as theoretical and artistic tendencies within his/her field of work. The candidate shall be able to use this knowledge critically assessing practices, curricula and literature in the topical field.
Learning methods and activities
In the thesis DRA3192, the candidate will reflect critically upon the practical work performed in the practical course DRA3191, and situate this his/her in a scholarly and cultural context. A presentation of the overall theoretical foundations of the project is also required. Dependant on the nature of the project, the written thesis may have focus on the processes leading up to a artistic product, or on the product itself. The written thesis should between 20.000 and 25.000 words (50 to 65 pages). The word count does not include front cover, preface, table of contents, bibliography or attachments. The thesis must include the word count typed, and it is the responsibility of the candidate that the word count is correct.
