About the course
Course content
The course will be given every year on the condition at sufficient number of students have signed up: 2010,2011, 2012 etc. The course shall give an introduction to the background, rationale, methods, practices, applications, and experiences of Open Source Software, largely based on the existing course TDT10 (autumn). TDT10 will be kept as a half-course, and DT8100 will be possible to choose as a topic in IDI's other master studies. The first part of the course will be equialent to TDT10.
Learning outcome
Insight in principles for object-orientation for use in modeling, construction and implementation.
Learning methods and activities
Joint colloqium and own theory essay.

Required previous knowledge
The course assumes course TDT4140 (SIF8018) System Development.
Course materials
A preliminary pensum list will been made, by merging the previous material from www.idi.ntnu.no/emner/tdt10 and www.idi.ntnu.no/emner/dt8100. Ca. 400 pages taken from 30 papers.
