About the course

Course content

Advanced development methods for information systems, research into evaluating such methods. Modelling, problem analysis, requirements specification. Combination of formal and informal modelling techniques. Integration of functional and non-functional requirements.

Learning outcome

Insights into essential research problems in methods for development, acquisition and evaluation of information systems.

Learning methods and activities

Guided self-study combined with seminars and compulsory exercises. The exercises include oral presentations by the students, plus a term paper. The grade in the course is based on a portfolio assessment. Included in the portfolio is a term paper to be presented orally (50%) and a final oral examination (50%). The parts will be given %-scores, while the final grade will be a letter grade. If the course is taken by a high number of students, the oral examination may be replaced by a written examination.
