Course content

The topic is given on demand. Vital challenges
to be covered include: similarity and clustering of text, discovery of
association rules in text, social network analysis, web structure
mining, web usage mining, and recommendation systems.

Learning outcome

Knowledge: Introduction to problems, principles, mechanisms and techniques
connected to the management of mining of large and/or distributed text
collections. Skills: Discovery of association rules in text, social network analysis, web structure mining, web usage mining, and recommendation systems.

Learning methods and activities

Joint colloquium and self study.

If the course is taken by a high number of students, the oral examination may be replaced by a written examination.
