Course content
The course provides an in-depth study of selected phenomena in English grammar and/or translation from the point of view of state-of-the-art frameworks and approaches. In addition, the course addresses issues in comparative grammar, for example parametric differences between English and Norwegian.
Learning outcome
To achieve an awareness of the basic issues of the grammar of English and ways of describing and explaining them using advanced theoretical approaches. To gain an understanding of how awareness of systematic differences between languages can be employed to resolve issues in areas such as language teaching and translation.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, seminars, discussions and supervision and it`s learning.
Compulsory assignments
- 4 written assignments, each approx. 500 words/1-2 pages
