Course content
This course will explore a selection of English-language literary works produced during a particular historical period or at several historical "moments". Attention will be given to the ways in which the selected works respond to and/or intervene in contemporary society and culture.

Learning outcome
Students should develop knowledge and understanding of a particular historical period or several historical "moments" within English-language literature, of the relationship between liteature and history, and of period-related issues within literary studies. Students should develop their writing skills and their skills in academic argumentation.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/seminars. Supervision. Students are required to use It's:learning regularly.
Compulsory assignments
- 2 short written assignments (ca. 500 words/1-2 p, 1000-1500 words/3 p)

ENG1301 or ENG1302+ENG1303 and ENG1201
