About the course
Course content
Through a survey of selected central texts, or by attention to a more specific genre or time period, the course focuses on the formal, historical and thematic relatons between the literary works of a particular English-speaking nation. Each work will also be examined as an independent literary product, and, where relevant, its econmic, social and political contexts will be explored.

Learning outcome
To develop knowledge and understanding of the literature of a particular English-speaking nation, and of issues pertaining to nation within literary studies. Students should develop their writing skills and their skills in academic argumentation.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/seminars. Supervision. Students are required to use It's:learning regularly.
Compulsory assignments
- 2 short written assignments (ca. 500 words/1-2 p, 1000-1500 words/3 p)

ENG1301 or ENG1302+ENG1303 and ENG1201
