About the course
Course content
This course will focus on a specific body of cultural texts that are linked through a shared context or contexts social, historical, ideological or intellectual. It will examine the text-context dialectic the ways in which texts are formed by the context from which they emerge, and also the ways in which they react back upon this context. The texts involved may all be of the same type or they may be mixed. More detailed information concerning the syllabus will be made available at the start of the semester in which the course is taught.
Learning outcome
To develop an understanding of the complex ways in which cultural texts are formed by, and react back upon, specific contexts, and to explore the theoretical implications of such interactive processes.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/seminars. Supervision. Students are required to use It's:learning regularly.

Courses at ENG1000 level, completed one-year programme in English or equivalent approved education.
