About the course

Course content

Energy, exergy, irreversibility.
Exergy transfer and exergy loss in thermal and chemical processes, e.g. power processes, combustion, boiling, cooling proscesses, mixing and separation.
Exergy balance for system and subsystems. Optimization of energy processes. Exergy and irreversibility of flowing media, flow fields, turbulence.

Guided self study/colloquia. Exersises. Project work.

Required previous knowledge

TEP4125 Termodynamics 2 or similar. Good knowledge of fluid mechanics and/or heat and mass transfer.
