Course content
The course provides a broad overview of the study of public history employed on Norwegian examples. The course is adapted for students participating in the five-year teacher training program in history. The study of public history is interdisciplinary where terms as memory, myths, identity and historical consciousness are central. The course provides a broad introduction to this set of themes where we analyze and discuss the most important terms and explanatory models with the use of examples of current interest.
Learning outcome
After the course the studentes should know and be able to use and discuss different models and theories concerning the study of public history.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, group work and excursion. Individual exercises must be graded as approved before final examination.
