Course content
The course explores the representation of reality in film and television. The emphasis will be on traditions and theory tied to the documentary film. News and current interest programs on television will also be examined.
Learning outcome
The objective of the course is to develop a critical understanding of, and ability to analyze, audiovisual representations of reality.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, screenings, and seminars.
Compulsory assignment:
Students must pass an oral presentation before final assessment can be made.

The final assessment is based on a letter-graded 6-hour written examination.
Students are required to check the result of their assignment on the department's bulletin boards.
Students are required to stay updated on any information given by the department or course director; either via It's learning, Innsida, course pages on the web, or on bulletin boards.
