About the course

Course content

Compared to KM3010 this course constitutes a specialisation. It provides an introduction to theoretical and historical prespectives and approaches distinct to film science.

Learning outcome

Through the course the student should acquire a familiarity with film studies as an academic discipline.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, seminars and screenings.

Compulsory assignment:
Oral presentation with written documentation.

More on assessment: The final assessment is based on a one-week take-home examination where the student, in 10 - 15 pages, answers a collection of exercises. The examination is given a letter grade.

Students are required to keep updated on relevant information from the department or course director via It's learning, Innsida, course web pages or the department's bulletin boards.

Required previous knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Film Studies. Admission to the Master's programme in Film Studies.
