Course content
This course builds on Research Methods I. Students are taught to apply methods learned in Research Methods I through the use of computer statistics programs. In addition, practical skills will be enlarged and earlier knowledge will be deepened. Central to the course are phonetic issues that the students encounter in their own experiments and in the literature.
Learning outcome
The goal of the course is for students to learn how to use computer programs in order to perform statistical analyses.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, group instructions and exercises with supervision. The course may be taught in English or Norwegian, depending on who is teaching it. More on assessment: Mandatory exercises must be approved before the student may take the take-home exam.
The size of the take-home exam depends partly on the subject, but is usually between 8-12 typed A4-pages (line spacing 1.5).
Compulsory assignments
- 3-6 laboratory exercises

ST0202 Statistics for social sciences, or equivalent background.
