About the course
Course content
The course gives an introduction to French language with emphasis on pronunciation, listening comprehension, basic grammar and written exercises. It also presents aspects of French culture and society through texts and conversations.
Learning outcome
The students will gain insight into fundamental aspects of French grammar. Students will develop the ability to engage in elementary conversations about everyday topics covered in the textbook, as well as to read and write simple texts with a limited vocabluary. The students will also gain some insight into French culture and society.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions. Both parts of the exam are graded together. Failing one part of the exam entails failing the whole course. Students who fail must sit both parts again.
Compulsory assignments
- Dictation, 5-10 minutes.
