Students should acquire skills in using grammars and dictionaries, and should be able to demonstrate their comprehension of various French texts through French-Norwegian translations. Their written performance should enable them to produce short texts in French. They should be familiar with the spelling-pronunciation interface, and be able to express themselves orally. One important objective of the teaching is to improve the students' reading comprehension skills.
