About the course
Course content
The course will cover modern French history, geography and social studies. There is an opportunity for a stay at the study centre in Caen, France, where lectures relevant to this course are offered.
Learning outcome
Students should have gained insight into French society today and current political issues in France.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions with discussion. Practice in oral presentations. Students are expected to give response to each other's presentations.
Assessment: Home exam 4-5 pages. Both parts of the exam are graded together. Failing one part of the exam entails failing the whole course. Students who fail must sit both parts again.
Compulsory assignments
- 1 assignment written in French, 3-4 pages.
