About the course

Course content

The course involves translation of Norwegian texts into French and vice versa; additionally, the students are expected to write summaries.

Learning outcome

As a result of their work with translating Norwegian texts into French and French texts into Norwegian, students should be enabled to display proficiency in French language and grammar. As a result of their work with summaries and resumés students should be enabled to document an understanding of texts written in French, as well as the capacity to write self-consciously in French.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and group sessions with discussion.

Compulsory assignments

  • 1 translation from French into Norwegian (approx. 1 p.)
  • 1 translation from Norwegian into French (approx. 1 p.)
  • 1 resumé of a text in French (approx. 1/2 p.)
