About the course
Course content
The course gives practical training in the use of French at a high level. By means of exercises in translation, emphasis is given to contrastive aspects of Norwegian/French language.
Learning outcome
Students should acquire an insight into central issues in translation both as a linguistic and a cultural practice. Furthermore, they should achieve good proficiency in French through translations of texts from Norwegian into French.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions with discussions. Students are expected to actively participate in the lectures by presenting translations.
Compulsory assignments
- 4 translations (approx. 3/4 page)
Recommended previous knowledge
Bachelor's degree with specialisation in French. Bachelor's degree in European Studies and Foreign Languages - French.
