Course - Dosimetry of Ionizing Radation - FY8402
Dosimetry of Ionizing Radation
About
About the course
Course content
The course is given every 3 years, next time concentrated to two separate weeks in the spring of 2011. Main elements of the course are: Fundamental entities in dosimetry (absorbed dose, kerma, energy imparted etc), cavity theories, charged particle equilibrium, dosimetry at boundaries, transport theory, microdosimetry, neutron dosimetry, internal dosimetry, personal dosimetry, applied dosimetry in radiation-based medical diagnostics and therapy.
Learning outcome
Students learn the theoretical basis of dosimetry of ionizing radiation, as well as applications of dosimetry for radiation therapy and for risk assessment of radiation exposure of humans.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and problem solving sessions.
Compulsory assignments
