About the course
Course content
Current environmental problems such as spatial conflicts, deforestation and water shortages are discussed. Further, the course gives a brief introduction to basic demographic concepts and models, as well as traits in the development of global populations. Emphasis is placed on presenting different ways of looking at the relationship between economic growth, population growth, poverty, and environmental deterioration.
Learning outcome
The course aims to give an overview of some central concepts and themes linked to the management of natural resources.
Learning methods and activities
Teaching method and activities: 18 hours lectures, 6 hours seminar.
Compulsory activity: Approved term paper.
Form of assessment: 4 hour written exam.
