About the course

Course content

The course gives an overview of what techniques are available for visualizing data through, for example, representation of relief and the use of digital terrain models (DTM). In addition, teaching is given in manual and algorithmic methods for generalizing, classification, and multivariate methods for obtaining the best possible results cartographically.
Students are also given an introduction to geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing.

Learning outcome

The course aims to provide knowledge on the treatment of information from maps.

Learning methods and activities

Teaching method and activities: 16 hours lectures, 14 hours practicals.
