Course - Dissemination of Geography - GEOG3020
Dissemination of Geography
About
About the course
Course content
The course is an obligatory part of the five-year educational training course with MA in Geography, and it aims to continue previous activities in the educational course.
The course focuses on central themes in Geography and how these can be variously conveyed in lectures and/or other forms of educational tuition. Through this, the course also attempts to demonstrate why and how Geography as a disciplinary approach can serve to throw light on central questions relating to society as a whole.
An important part of the course is project work where students work under supervision on a discipline- and dissemination plan on a geographic theme that they have selected.
Learning outcome
The course aims to increase students awareness of how central themes in geography are best communicated to schoolchildren and others. Through lectures, seminars and assignments, the course aims to identify the challenges of how Geography as both a specialist subject and a taught subject is disseminated at all levels, including through formal education.
