About the course

Course content

This course builds on GEOG 3053, but it goes more into depth on contemporary theories within the field of geography and development studies. It seeks to facilitate the work for the students to identify relevant theory and to formulate an analytical approach for their study. Emphasis is put on developing a relevant and comprehensive theoretical approach for the thesis work.

Learning outcome

To prepare the students for thesis theory work.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures (10 hours), seminars, group work and term paper formulation (30 hours). The course is reserved for students admitted to the MPhil in Development Studies.

Compulsory assignments

  • Two seminar presentations.
