About the course

Course content

The course studies central themes in physical geography research theory and method. The main theme varies from year to year, depending on the Department’s current research activities and prevalent theoretical issues. Students write a review of articles based on an in-depth study (10–15 scientific articles) of one of the main themes of the course. Tuition is mainly in the form of seminars, where students present scientific articles for discussion, together with their review of the articles. The article review is submitted and awarded a grade.

Learning outcome

The course aims to give greater insight into research theory and method in physical geography.

Learning methods and activities

8 hours lectures, 8 hours seminars, obligatory.

Compulsory assignments

  • Approved oral presentations.

Required previous knowledge

Bachelor in geography. Other relevant qualifications can be accepted upon approval by the Department of Geography
