About

About the course

Course content

The course studies processes operating in fluvial systems, with focus on material transport, and river dynamics and their response to natural physical changes and human interference. Through a series of thematic lectures on results of recent research, the course attempts to provide answers to questions such as: How does a fluvial system respond to changes in precipitation patterns? What are the possible consequences of canalisation and plastering of river beds? The course is taught every other year, alternating with course GEOG 3514 Slope Systems and Material Transport.

The course provides a comprehensive understanding of fluvial processes.
