About the course
Course content
Representing, analysis and present characteristics of the urban landscape using 3D modeling. Raster based GIS operations such as map algebra, visibility analysis, and sun radiation analysis. During the semester students will carry out several exercises as well as an individual project and the result from this project will influence the final grade for this course.
Learning outcome
The course aims to provide students with advanced skills in the use of geographical information systems (GIS) for urban planning purposes in general and for visibility analysis in particular.
Learning methods and activities
8 hours lectures, 22 hours practical exercise work. Both of the exams must be must be handed in and graded to E or better. Please note that the course may be cancelled due to the teaching capacity at the Department of Geography if less than 5 students register for the course. GEOG1004 and GEOG1511.
Required previous knowledge
