About

About the course

Course content

The thesis is worth 60 credits and should be 100–125 pages in length. The Department has produced a study plan for thesis preparation which, if followed, makes it possible for students to complete the study in the normal time available. Important points:

• Students themselves must decide on the theme of their thesis, early in the first semester. A provisional project description (6-8 pages) must be submitted by 1st November. This forms the basis for the assignment of a supervisor.
• Students must write a paper in connection with the obligatory course (2nd semester) indicating the general content of selected theme/research objectives.
• Reading of necessary background literature and fieldwork/data collection must be carried out by the middle of the 3rd semester (mid-October). Students must be well in progress with the analysis by the end of the 3rd semester.
• First draft must be submitted by 1st May (4th semester).
• Final version submitted and examination taken in June or August (4th semester).
• Rights to supervisors cease after the 4th semester.
