About the course

Course content

This course is an introduction to the Greek language (classical Athenian or dimotiki, i.e. Modern Greek), with a focus on basic grammar and vocabulary.

Learning outcome

Students should acquire basic knowledge of Greek grammar and vocabulary, and practice in translating Greek texts at an elementary level

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and seminars; compulsory test of grammar and vocabulary that must be passed before the final written exam. In this exam the students are to translate curriculum texts and manage grammatical analyses of the texts.
