About the course

Course content

This is an introductory course in international, European and Nowegian history after 1850. The course covers political, economic as well as social history.

Learning outcome

The aim of the course is to give an overview of modern history from 1848 onwards. The students will learn about important political, economical and social events and processes and through this understand more of the develeopment of the modern society.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures and group instruction. One approved written assignment and a six-hour final exam.
