About the course
Course content
The topic for the master's thesis is selected in consultation with a supervisor, preferably in connection with an existing research project. An overview of ongoing projects at the department will be available at the beginning of each semester. The thesis should normally contain between 70-100 pages (this is calculated assuming the use of standard A4 paper, 1.5 line spacing, and Times New Roman as font/typeface).
Learning outcome
Work with a master's thesis is practical experience in historical research. Through their research, students should have the experience of how a research project is developed and source material collected and used.
Learning methods and activities
The topic should be developed in consultation with a supervisor. Term paper and project plans are evalulated with approved/not approved before the second semester.
