About the course
Course content
The course will consider theories and new research on health promotion. Health promotion on an individual, group and social level, locally and globally.
Learning outcome
The student is expected to develop a general understanding of central topics in and the theoretical founding of health promotion research. The student shall also have insights in and be able to discuss theories and empirical findings concerning bio-medical vs. bio-psycho-social-existential understanding of health, resilience, coping, salutogenesis, responsibility and control, quality of life, well-being, general positive psychology, and the cross-disciplinary nature of the research.
Learning methods and activities
Resource lectures, seminars and problem based group sessions. Home exam, two weeks.
Compulsory assignments

Required previous knowledge
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health science or the social sciences.
Course materials
500 pages of curriculum, consisting of articles and book chapters.
