About the course
Course content
Main directions within contemporary social theory, and these approaches are topics rooted in classical social theory, related to sport theory and sport science questions. The course paper should be based on a research topic linked to the course and syllabus.
Learning outcome
The main goal of the course is to provide the students with an overview, elaboration and examples of classical and contemporary social theorists. This also includes a contextualization of sociology of sport, including an applied philosophy of science framework.
Learning methods and activities
Teaching method and activities: Lectures and seminars, equivalent to 6 hours per week. Form of assessment is the individual term paper and a written exam.

Prerequisites: 82.5 credits in Social Sciences and Sports Sciences
or equivalent
