About the course
Course content
The aim of the course is to provide insight in the physical education curriculum in primary and secondary education. Students will also acquire theoretical and practical knowledge concerning academic content, learning environment, group processes and learning outcome in physical education.
Learning outcome
Provide students with theoretical, methodological and practical insight to work with Physical education and organized sports.
Learning methods and activities
Throughout the semester there are 6 hours of lectures/practical activities and 2 hours of group discussion per week. There is a compulsory term paper on the subject of Physical education, including observation in school context. The course requires students to show individual skills and instruct in practical activities central for Physical education. Learning through practical activities is emphasized. The course is reserved for students admitted to the bachelor's program in Social science and Sport Science and one-year programme in Physical Education and Sport. Exchange students interested in the course must consult the department fo possible admission.
