About the course
Course content
The course gives an introduction to Italian language with emphasis on pronunciation, listening comprehension, basic grammar and written exercises. It also presents aspects of Italian culture and society through texts and conversations.
Learning outcome
The students should gain oral proficiency in Italian. They should be able to engage in elementary conversations in Italian, and they should be able to read and write simple texts. The students should also gain some insight in Italian culture and society.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions. Assessment: Both parts of the exam are graded together. Failing one part of the exam entails failing the whole course. Students who fail must sit both parts again.
Compulsory assignments
- Dictation, 5-10 minutes.
