About the course

Course content

The course includes central position in the field of organizational theory. The course builds on multiperspective analysis. After an initial presentation of the main strands of thinking within organizational theory, a focus is set on theories explaining the relationship between technology and organization, in addition to theories and models of understanding the construction of technology as a social product. The last part of the course has focus on learning and development in organizations. Duration of the course will be two semesters, and start next time authumn 2011.

Learning outcome

It is a central goal that the students should have an in depth understanding of organization, technology, learning and change.

Learning methods and activities

The course will be given in a sequence of 8 - 10 full days seminars and active participation from the students is expected. The course runs over two semesters.
The exam is based on a mandatory paper that is expected to hold standards on international journals. The grading is 100% based on the paper.

Required previous knowledge

The students are expected to have finished course TIØ4160 (SIS1032) Bedriftsadministrasjon 1 and TIØ4165 (SIS1034) Bedriftsadministrasjon 2 or equal courses
