Course - New Methods in Organic Synthesis - KJ8104
New Methods in Organic Synthesis
About
About the course
Course content
This is a course in advanced organic chemistry in tutorial form.
i) New technology in organic synthesis (sonochemistry, microwave, ionic liquids, solid phase synthesis, supercritical fluids),
ii) cross coupling Pd catalysed reactions (Heck, Stille, Suzuki, Sonogashira, Sonogashira) and
iii) organocatalysis,
iv) organofluorine chemistry.
Learning outcome
The student will be able to apply new technology in organic synthesis. The student will also get a solid overview of recent advanced methods for organic synthesis.
Learning methods and activities
The course is given every second year, next time autumn 2010. Lectures and group discussions (ca 3 hours per week). If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may change from written to oral. English teaching by request.
Recommended previous knowledge
