About the course
Course content
This course offers a survey of European literature from antiquity. Latin and/or Greek texts are read and studied.
Learning outcome
The student is expected to achieve a deeper knowledge of literature and culture of European antiquity and also to improve her/his knowledge of at least one of the ancient languages.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and seminars; individual tutoring through It´s learning/email. The lectures are normally held during a concentrated period of 4 weeks at the Norwegian Institute in Athens. It is not compulsory to attend these lectures.
Recommended previous knowledge
Latin: basic courses, e.g. LAT1001-1006. Greek: GRE1101 and basic courses at other universities.
