About the course
Course content
Students shall acquire knowledge about the study of distribution of disease in human populations, and the commonly used methods to investigate causes of disease. The course will introduce the students to epidemiological methods, study design and basic analysis of epidemiological data. In particular, sources of bias that often threaten the validity of observational studies, will be discussed.
Learning outcome
Learn the most important measures of disease frequency, and how to estimate the association between a possible causal factor and the occurrence of disease. Further, the students are expected to learn the basic principles of various study designs applicable to epidemiology.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and home work assignments. The lectures will take place the weeks the master program of Clinical Health Science has intensive education.
If there are any English speaking students, the lectures will be given in English.
Form of assessment can be changed.
